Austin LGBT sci-fi, fantasy & gaming professionals selected for Austin Comic Con

ens of thousands of fans will converge at the Austin Convention Center on October 2-4 for Austin Comic Con 2014 Wizard World Convention in celebration of all manner of pop culture. This year’s lineup not only includes the standard beloved television and film actors, internet sensations, and comic book artists but also a panel featuring Austin-area pop culture professionals and experts who are additionally members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Joining Brown on the programming panel are Daniel Harvell (entrepreneur and contemporary fantasy author), Kathryn Long (technical artist at EA BioWare), Kevin Walsh (game systems designer), Seth Mason (non-profit executive and fiction/design gaming contributor), and Sarah Gunn (fine art photographer and fantasy novelist).

Daniel Harvell, whose second novel WISHING WILL launched in July, is excited to talk about the roles that pop culture, sci-fi and fantasy play in the LGBT community. The Diversity in Geek Culture panel is scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 4 from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM in Room 10AB.
