Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is Opening!
Gates will open at Noon on Monday, August 2
All of Gumbo Limbo’s property will reopen to the public at 12:00 pm on Monday, August 2nd. Visitors will be welcomed onsite to visit our Aquariums, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility, Nature Center, Gift Shop, and all trails (Boardwalk, Butterfly Garden, and Ashley Trail). The Nature Center, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility, and Aquariums will close at 4:00 pm, while the trails will remain open until sunset.

New Operating Hours
We are pleased to offer new operating hours that will allow earlier entry on Sundays.

Nature Center, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation, and Aquariums
Tuesday – Sunday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Monday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Nature Trails
Sunday – Saturday, 7:00 am – Sunset
Restrooms are not available when the nature center is closed.

Nature Programs
Little Wonders and Nature Detectives
Welcome back to in-person programs for our youngest naturalists! The children’s programs will be held outdoors and will allow you and your child to learn about the wonders of nature together through monthly themed story times, explorations, and crafts.

Saturday, August 14
10:00 am – Little Wonders (ages 3-4)
12:00 pm – Nature Detectives (ages 5-6)
Cost per child: Resident/Member $8, Non-resident/Non-member $10
No cost for adult (one adult per family)
Advanced reservations are required through Webtrac. See our website for instructions.
Intracoastal Adventures – Kayaking
Beautiful scenery, fresh air, and exercise! Explore the Intracoastal shores by kayak while learning about the fascinating mangrove and estuary ecosystems of South Florida. Must have kayaking experience and be able to get in and out of a kayak without assistance. Single/double kayaks will be assigned to couples/groups as available. Advanced reservations are required; see our website for instructions. Programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather or minimum registration.
