Cocaine Cowboys Live

Building on the award-winning documentary series by Billy Corben and rakontur which shed light on the fascinating histories of Miami’s drug trade through exclusive interviews with law enforcement officials, journalists, and organized crime leaders, Confessions of a Cocaine Cowboy is a new play chronicling the brutal drug war through the eyes of Jorge “Rivi” Ayala, a hired assassin working with the notorious drug queenpin Griselda Blanco. The play exposes how coke, cash, and corruption created the Magic City we know today.

Award-winning playwright AURIN SQUIRE (NBC’s This is us, CBS’s The Good Fight), joins BILLY CORBEN and Miami New Drama’s artistic director MICHEL HAUSMANN in developing this uniquely Miami live theater event. Starring Yancey Arias (Kingpin, Lethal Weapon), Zilah Mendoza (Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy), Andhy Mendez (The Blacklist, Orange is the New Black), Rudi Goblen, Nicholas Richberg, and Stephen Anthony.

Performances begin March 7th at the Colony Theatre on Lincoln Road.
