Sea Turtle Nesting

From now through October 31st, our five-mile stretch of beach in Boca Raton will certainly have some new and returning visitors. While we share our beaches with these nesting female sea turtles during this time, it’s important to remember to do our part in helping them succeed, which includes filling in any holes you have dug, leaving nothing behind when you leave the beach, and keeping a safe distance if you are to spot a nesting female.

And remember, if you come across a nesting sea turtle or sea turtle track, do not disturb it! Stay a safe distance away and report sick or injured sea turtles to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at 1-888-404-FWCC or call Gumbo Limbo if you’re in the Boca Raton area at 561-212-8691. Be prepared to answer questions regarding the sea turtle’s location, condition, and size.
