Megacon 2016 Review

This weekend we covered Megacon 2016 in Orlando, Florida. We have covered the convention many, many times in the past but this year it was under new management. Some of the changes that they had made were apparent as some were a bit tough on the fans.

The last few times that we were there, we could walk through the buildings to get to the ticket center. This year, they had the line outside as this was not a good way to start the convention and a bit tough on the fans. When we inside and where seeking to find out to go for our press passes, we had a tough time finding the press area. Megacon had only one line. Making this tough on fans as the lines became long but everyone looked excited to get inside and have some fun.

The information was a bit tough to come by but the volunteers were very helpful. The setup was different than before but we were looking forward to seeing what Fan Expo had done with the takeover of Megacon. This show was much different, more space and much, much larger.

The celebrity lines looked long as well as artist Alley. The 501st had an amazing setup for pictures as well as the Ghostbusters and the Delorean from Back to The Future. The Batcopter and Batcycle were also there and the Ninja Turtles from the new upcoming movie. This was really, really cool.  There was plenty do and see and tons of family fun.

Hopefully, we will be able to cover this for many more years to come. This was definitely a different convention but a good convention. Vital to Orlando and the area. A convention worthy of your attendance and time.
