The Shape of Music

Refreshing cool waters, cool breezes, and the Oscar winning movie Shape of Water, are all inspirations for Ft. Lauderdale’s own Symphony of the Americas 30th Anniversary season’s annual Summerfest – the Shape of Music. This Broward County designated Major Cultural Institution, takes the exhilaration of live performance of the Summerfest String Orchestra to audiences throughout Florida and the Americas.

Soloists from acclaimed European orchestras including Italy’s I Musici, the Hungarian Virtuosi and others, perform classical and popular music for strings, joined in cultural exchange by principal musicians of the Symphony of the Americas. More than 10 different countries are represented on stage at Summerfest concerts.

Nourish your artistic soul under the baton of Artistic Director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, in the music of Saint-Saens, Mozart, Bach, Delibes, Ginastera and the legendary Argentinian, Carlos Gardel. Included also is a commissioned composition by Italian composer in residence, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, soloists are Concertmaster Orlando Forte of Cuba, Marco Key-Navarrete, oboe, and internationally acclaimed organist Tim Brumfield, among others.
