Young At Art Museum Superhero’s and Comic Books

Discover the mystery and marvel behind our nation’s most celebrated comic book superheroes when Young At Art Museum presents Zap! Pow! Bam! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950, a national traveling exhibition that opens at the museum on Saturday, October 12 and continues through Sunday, January 5, 2014. Zap! Pow! Bam! explores the origin and popularity of beloved icons including Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, and Captain America.

Vintage artwork and books, multi-media presentations and colorful interactive displays will beckon visitors to explore the world of superheroes and explain the creative processes and influences that drove young artists to express themselves through the storylines and art of graphic novels. Hours are Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
