The Pompano Beach Amp is the place to be the second weekend in November. John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Grill-Off Food & Wine Festival presented by the University of Miami Health System has combined forces with AEG Presents to create a two-day extravaganza. On their own, John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Grill-Off Food & Wine Festival or the Sammy Hagar & The Circle concert would each be a huge draw, but together, a once in a lifetime experience has just been created—the launch of the John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Grill-Off Food & Wine Festival Weekend!

On Saturday, the ever-popular John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Gill-Off Food & Wine Festival presented by the University of Miami Health System kicks off its eighth year with Miami Dolphins legends, top South Florida chefs and media personalities teaming up to delight football fans and foodies with signature grilled entrees paired with premium wines and spirits. Nearly 3,000 event attendees will also enjoy live music by the Hyryze Band, a silent auction, the Average Joes vs. Football Pros cornhole tournament at the Toyota Festival Stage, Tito’s Vodka Tailgate Zone and more.

Then, on Sunday night, Sammy Hagar, one of rock music’s most dynamic singer songwriters performs in concert with his new band The Circle. As a multiplatinum-selling solo artist and frontman for iconic bands including Montrose and Van Halen, with whom he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Haggar has sold more than 50 million albums and influenced the sound of rock music for more than four decades. His newest supergroup The Circle, features Michael Anthony, the renowned bassist who’s played with him for the past 30 years in bands including Van Halen and Chickenfoot; Jason Bonham, the acclaimed drummer and son of Led Zeppelin’s iconic drummer, John Bonham; and Vic Johnson, Hagar’s longtime guitar virtuoso who seamlessly shreds through his own, as well as some of rock’s most iconic guitarist’s riffs. Multi-platinum selling band, Collective Soul, opens.

This live entertainment addition is sponsored in part by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Film, Music, Fashion & Create division.

“John Offerdahl’s Gridiron Grill-Off is excited to up the entertainment factor and expand the scope of this annual event by adding a Sunday concert,” said John Offerdahl, event founder and former Miami Dolphins All-Pro Linebacker.

Saturday’s football, food and wine elements will not be present at Sunday’s concert.

Sammy Hagar and The Circle had originally been scheduled for September 19, 2017, but due to Hurricane Irma, the concert was rescheduled. Tickets from the original date will be honored at this event. Refunds for the original date will be given at point of sale.
