Kick Off Your Weekends with Friday Night at Your Library

Ready to party? Broward County Library is hosting great Friday night events – $10 includes drinks, music, food and entertainment. That’s easy on your wallet and hard to resist! “Friday Night at the Library” events are held on the first Friday of select months at various library locations. Open to anyone 21 or over, the parties include a signature cocktail, light buffet featuring themed food, music, cultural presentations, art exhibits, performances, giveaways and more. Searching for Giants Kick-off Party

Broward County’s first ever countywide display of giant inflatable art takes place from September 6th through October 26th. Created by international contemporary artists, the monumental and whimsical outdoor sculptures (some measuring up to 30-feet high) will be on view for two days each, at nine locations throughout the county. The family-friendly event features a performance by the South Florida Chamber Ensemble, Portuguese/English storytelling with local Brazilian authors Andrea Skromovas and Cynthia Magnani, children’s crafts and an introduction to library resources for citizenship workshops, self-improvement, language instruction and more. Fort Lauderdale Story Slam: Whodunnit?!?

Friday, September 13th, 6:30-9:30PM, African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, Adults ages 21 and over

male speaker at 2018 story slam An Evening of True Stories of Double, Crosses, Secret Admirers, Guilty Secrets and Mysteries of All Kinds! This live storytelling competition featuring eight storytellers telling their own true tales of mystery and fun, interactive storytelling games for the audience. Doors open at 6PM and there’ll be live music before the Slam starts at 7PM. Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 students/seniors when purchased online at Eventbrite and $20 general admission and $15 students/seniors at the door.
